The slimy gray goop wriggled across my plate. Mystery Meat Tuesday at Jasper Elementary had slithered in once again. I jabbed my fork at the burger-shaped blob just to make sure it was really dead. With a shiver and shudder, it finally lay still. I covered the gray gooey mass with my napkin. Giving it a decent burial was the least I could do.
synopsis
The school cafeteria mystery meat has taken on a life of its own, and the green macaroni could break a tooth. Now someone's kidnapped Ms. Barley, everyone's favorite lunch lady! It's up to fifth-grade detective Wally Wexler and his investigative team to rescue Ms. Barley and solve the mystery of the rotting, wriggling cafeteria food.
